Representatives of Swedish furniture giant IKEA met with Chea Vuthy, Secretary-General of the Investment Committee of Cambodia to discuss the investment climate and potential in Cambodia.
Mr Chea and his colleagues met with an IKEA delegation led by Mr. GIAFAR SAFAVERDI, CEO of IKEA Southeast Asia, on March 19 at the Council for the Development of Cambodia office.
At the outset, the Secretary-General welcomed the delegation of companies who had come to Cambodia to study the investment climate and potential in Cambodia.

The Secretary-General briefed the delegation on Cambodia’s policy to attract private investment, the attractive incentive regime under the current investment law, the non-discriminatory treatment and support measures that the Royal Government has continuously put in place to improve the investment and business climate in Cambodia, along with other enabling factors.
At the same time, the Secretary-General also encouraged Mr. GIAFAR SAFAVERDI, IKEA representative, to hurry up in making a decision to invest in Cambodia to quickly reap profits.
In response, Mr. GIAFAR SAFAVERDI thanked the Secretary General for taking the time to meet and discuss the work and providing factual information for the company to use as a basis for decision-making.

Mr. GIAFAR SAFAVERDI informed that this is the first time that IKEA has started looking at the Cambodian investment market to expand its investment.
IKEA is a large furniture and home furnishings company in the world, founded in 1943 in Sweden.
In 2024, IKEA had revenues of approximately 26.5 billion euros, equivalent to approximately 29 billion US dollars.
In Southeast Asia, IKEA has invested in several countries, such as Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Thailand, and Vietnam.
