The Japan-Cambodia Association (JCA) has outlined three key action plans aimed at strengthening Japanese investment in Cambodia.
During a courtesy meeting with Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet in Tokyo on May 28, JCA President TAKAHASHI Fumiaki presented the three priorities: promoting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and vocational training, encouraging investment in Cambodia’s agro-processing sector, and advancing investment in digital industrial parks.
Takahashi Fumiaki also announced that the association plans to visit Cambodia this year to boost Japanese investment further.
He expressed his gratitude to the Royal Government of Cambodia for its continued support, coordination, and attention to the JCA’s activities.
In response, Hun Manet praised the JCA’s progress and reaffirmed the Cambodian government’s policy of establishing special economic zones (SEZs) based on specific industries and partner countries.
Regarding SME promotion, the Prime Minister encouraged the association to explore the potential for establishing an Exclusive Special Economic Zone (ESEZ) for Japanese small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). He urged the JCA to continue engaging with relevant Cambodian ministries and institutions to advance the development of the ESEZ. AKP
