Although the construction of the beach between the rainbow bridge (the old bridge) to Kampong Bay bridge (the new bridge) is not yet complete, the provincial governor said it will be open to tourists on the occasion of the upcoming Khmer New Year, while the specialised department is busy accelerating the construction of the road to be completed before the Khmer New Year.
After the inauguration ceremony of the building in a pagoda in Banteay Meas district, Mao Thonin, Governor of Kampot Province, on April 3, continued to inspect the progress of the construction of the sandy beach road at the mouth of the Kampong Bay canal from the Rainbow Bridge to Kampong Bay Bridge and the White Horse Statue in front of the Old Provincial Hall.
During the visit, the governor said that in order to expand the scope of entertainment venues in Kampot City, the provincial administration will arrange for tourists to visit the beach from the old bridge to the new bridge on the occasion of the upcoming Khmer New Year, although the beach is not ready yet.
He continued that this beach is the heart of Kampot province and, after construction, will be beautiful and can attract many national and international tourists to visit because this location can make it possible for tourists to bathe.
At the same time, Thonin also urged the relevant units and departments to speed up the construction of the road before the Khmer New Year, clean the environment, prepare lighting, and study to install colour lights to decorate the night to be attractive from the base of the rainbow bridge to the new bridge. On the other hand, the 8-metre-tall water horse statue is also ready before the Khmer New Year, with colourful lights and water spraying.
The provincial governor stated that Prime Minister Hun Manet inspired all capitals and provinces to organize Sankranti events, promoting tourism through various mechanisms and principles. He urged authorities to enhance beauty, create entertainment, and develop tourist areas to attract national and international tourists. khmertimeskh
