Keve to host green transition event for SMEs

The Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (Keve) has announced a new initiative aimed at equipping small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) with practical tools and solutions to support their transition to a more sustainable and energy-efficient future.

The event, titled “Green Transition in Practice: Tools and Solutions for SMEs,” will take place on June 17, 2025, at the Keve building in Nicosia, running from 09:00 to 12:00.

Participation is free of charge, and attendees are asked to register by June 16, 2025.

Organised under the framework of the Enterprise Europe Network and the EE4SMEs project, the event is part of the chamber’s broader efforts to promote sustainability and enhance the competitiveness of Cypriot businesses.

The event is primarily aimed at companies active in food production, metal processing, and the hospitality and catering sectors, though participants from other industries are also welcome.

Its main objective is to deliver hands-on guidance and information to businesses seeking to align with environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria.

Participants will be introduced to the new European Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) and its implications for SMEs.

The event will explore the growing need for companies to adopt a formal energy policy and will offer strategies for improving energy efficiency.

These include methods such as energy audits, life cycle cost analysis (LCCA), energy monitoring and management systems (EMS), and the use of the Enterprise Europe Network platform.

Attendees will also be presented with best practices, including the use of the IMPAWATT platform, which allows businesses to assess their energy performance and receive tailored recommendations for improvement.

In addition, the event will highlight available funding instruments and programmes that support the implementation of the CSRD.

Finally, the announcement explained that the event will enable businesses to gain access to knowledge that supports compliance and innovation, helping to shape a greener, more resilient economy.
