Larnaca marina fees lowest in Cyprus, says transport ministry

Larnaca Marina’s berthing fees are “considered very competitive” compared to other commercial marinas on the island, according to the transport ministry.

The ministry made the statement as part of its preparations for the end of the contract concerning the integrated development of Larnaca Port and Marina, which terminates on May 27, 2024.

In a bid to ensure the “smooth and uninterrupted operation” of Larnaca’s port and marina infrastructure following this transition, the ministry mentioned that “maintenance and security services at the marina have already commenced and have continued ‘unhindered’ since its takeover”.
Regarding berthing fees, the ministry noted that prices at Larnaca Marina are significantly lower than those at other marinas in Cyprus.

In addition, fees for boats in the 10-15m category are “around 60 per cent lower” than at competing marinas.

The ministry emphasised that the fees need to be sustainable to align with its broader vision for marine infrastructure.

This vision includes “further development” of the marine infrastructure at Larnaca Marina and fostering Cyprus’ marine tourism industry.

In addition, during a press conference, Transport Minister Alexis Vafeades confirmed that there are plans to invest in Larnaca Marina, which are expected to “upgrade the overall marina ecosystem of Cyprus.”

“Redevelopment and maintenance work is already underway, which will bring added value to both the marina and the city of Larnaca,” he concluded.
