Over 600 foreign tourists arrive in Cambodia via cruise ship at Sihanoukville port

A foreign cruise ship, the Regatta, arrived at the Sihanoukville Autonomous Port yesterday, bringing more than 600 international tourists from 27 nationalities for a one-day visit to Cambodia before continuing its journey to Thailand.

According to immigration police officials at the international entry point of Sihanoukville Autonomous Port, the Regatta, registered under the Marshall Islands flag, docked at approximately 7:30 a.m. on June 12. The ship measures 180.45 metres in length, 25.46 metres in width, and has a water draft of 6.82 metres.

The vessel carried 628 tourists — including 328 women — representing 27 different nationalities. Additionally, the ship had 398 crew members, including 84 women, from 39 other countries. The cruise had arrived from Vietnam and was scheduled to depart Sihanoukville at 5:00 p.m. the same day, bound for Thailand.

Most of the tourists onboard were from the United States, accounting for 380 passengers. Four additional passengers (including two women), originally from Siem Reap province, also joined the cruise in Sihanoukville.

During their brief stay, tourists visited various attractions in and around Sihanoukville.

The arrival of the Regatta was warmly welcomed by the Sihanoukville and provincial authorities, with coordinated efforts from law enforcement and local officials to ensure security and safety throughout the visit. AKP
