Palm trees planted along Larnaca beaches

A total of 110 palm trees have been planted along the seafront on Castella beach in Oroklini, the Larnaca municipality and tourist board announced on Monday.

The aim is to render Larnaca beaches more attractive, by making them aesthetically pleasing and lending them a comparative advantage.

The Washingtonia palm trees are of the same variety along Larnaca’s iconic Phinikoudes seafront.

The Larnaca action, gradually implemented over the past seven years, is supported by the deputy tourism ministry and has significantly upgraded the image of the beaches.

Particular emphasis has been placed on Oroklini, which the board aspires will become Cyprus’ greenest beach in coming years, while the municipality said results are already visible.
