Paphos is set to undergo a digital transformation in 2024 with the Paphos Regional Tourism Board (Etap) committing extensive funds
to develop its digital presence.
Etap has announced an investment exceeding €220,000, collaborating with hoteliers, Hermes Airports, and Hellenic Bank for a year-round digital campaign in priority markets. The initiative aims to enhance Paphos as a travel choice in 2024 and strengthen its digital infrastructure.
In March, Etap also plans to initiate a study evaluating the current level of the destination’s digital presence. The findings from this study will be used to formulate a new digital marketing strategy. The goal is an upgrade in the digital presence of Paphos, involving businesses and all tourism stakeholders.
As part of this digital strategy, Etap is expanding its smart signs (QR) in phase 5. Around 25 additional signs will be introduced, providing information in five languages. These signs will include features such as audio tours, rich texts, photographic material, videos, and 360 tours.
In addition, in the next four months, it plans to launch an application on the myth of the goddess Aphrodite. This application will incorporate technological innovations. It will also explore the possibility of integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies in destination services, working closely with its partners.
