Paphos’s 500-year-old oak tree gets smart

The Paphos Regional Tourism Development and Promotion Company has installed a smart sign at a 500-year-old oak tree in the village of Fyti, expanding its digital information services and furthering its efforts to transform the region into a smart destination.

Visitors can scan the QR code on the sign to access information about the tree, forest protection, and the benefits of trees in multiple languages on their smart devices.

They can also view photos and videos related to the topic.

The company will soon complete the fifth phase of its smart sign project, installing a total of 23 signs in various areas and points of interest across the Paphos district, including Geroskipou, Akamas, Chloraka, Choli, Salamiou, Simou, and Drousia.
