Cambodia’s full peace, macroeconomic stability and fast and resilient economic growth are key prerequisite for Huawei’s decision to invest in the Kingdom in the past 25 years.
The remarks were made by visiting Lin Baifeng, President of Huawei Asia Pacific, while paying a courtesy visit to Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet at the Peace Palace here this morning.
The company has also gasped new investment opportunities in the field of information technology and decided to establish its regional office in Cambodia, Lin added.
The president of Huawei Asia Pacific also expressed his delight that the company has contributed to the development of digital and modern technology in Cambodia, and is committed to continue participating in more human resource training in technology to ensure Cambodia’s competitiveness in regional and global markets.
In reply, Hun Manet thanked Huawei for its confidence in Cambodia’s investment environment and for its commitment to human resource training. This is an important contribution to the implementation of the Royal Government’s Pentagon Strategy – Phase 1, which focuses on building human capital with skills, knowledge and ensuring high productivity to transform Cambodia into a country with digital economy and society as well as digital government, he underlined.
The meeting also touched on the initiative to establish a regional technology and digital training centre to attract regional technology students to study in Cambodia, as well as to encourage young Cambodians to embrace digital skills to contribute to the future economic development of Cambodia.
