The Cypriot village of Pissouri will be honoured as one of the world’s best tourism villages at a celebration event on 15 February, following its recognition by the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO).
The accolade, shared with fellow Cypriot village Kalopanayiotis, acknowledges Pissouri’s dedication to sustainable tourism development and promotion of local products, traditions, and natural beauty, according to the Limassol Tourism Development and Promotion Company (ETAP), which supported the application process.
Pissouri has secured membership in an international network that provides global recognition as an outstanding rural tourism destination, offering opportunities to exchange expertise with other acclaimed destinations.
The award ceremony will take place on Saturday, February 15, featuring guided tours of the village’s landmarks, followed by traditional music, dance performances, and refreshments in Pissouri square.
