PM encourages AirAsia to help promote Cambodia’s tourism

Prime Minister Hun Manet has encouraged AirAsia to collaborate with the government in promoting the development of Cambodia’s tourism industry.

While visiting Tony Fernandes, CEO of Capital A Group (AirAsia) at the Peace Palace in Phnom Penh yesterday, Hun Manet congratulated AirAsia on its growth and success in Cambodia and spoke highly of the airline’s contribution to the country’s socio-economic development, particularly in the tourism sector.

The Premier also laid stress on the government’s efforts to implement necessary mechanisms and measures to support and encourage airlines and travel agencies operating in Cambodia.

Fernandes expressed his delight and pride in AirAsia’s investment in Cambodia, emphasising that the country has great potential for aviation sector investment.

With the construction of three airports in Phnom Penh, Siem Reap, and Preah Sihanouk province, the number of travellers and tourists to Cambodia will continue to grow significantly in the future, said the CEO, reaffirming his company’s commitment to increasing air connectivity to Cambodia to attract more for travellers and tourists to the Kingdom.
