PM lauds Red Cross ethics at scarf ceremony

Prime Minister Hun Manet attended the Red Cross scarf ceremony at Koh Pich this morning. At the Koh Pich Convention and Exhibition Centre, 4,742 candidates from Phnom Penh’s higher education institutes were presented with scarves.

The PM’s spouse and Bun Rany Hun Sen, President of the Cambodian Red Cross (CRC), were also present.

In his address, the Premier praised the volunteers’ actions and the CRC’s significant contribution to humanitarian and social activities.

PM Manet said that the CRC’s true value lies in the heart and trust of the citizens who recognise its importance. Therefore, CRC members at all levels must continue fulfilling their mission responsibly.

Pit Chamnan, a Member of the CRC Central Committee, thanked the Prime Minister for his presence at the event, which reflects his high attention to the youth who are the most important human capital in continuing to maintaining peace, stability, solidarity and national unity to ensure the sustainability of Cambodia’s socio-economic progress toward her vision of 2030 and 2050.

Cambodian Red Cross was founded on Feb. 18, 1955 and became the 85th member of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement on Oct. 7, 1960. Currently, the number of CRC youth members rose to 32,134 across the country along with 1,049 youth advisors. AKP
