PM meets Japanese investors, trade organisations, and economic research teams in Japan

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet held separate meetings with Japanese investors, trade organisations, and economic research institutes during his official visit to Tokyo, Japan, from May 28 to 31.

Demizu Shigemitsu, President of YACHIYO Engineering Co., Ltd., and his delegation informed Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet of their interest in expanding investment in wastewater treatment in Preah Sihanouk Province, Cambodia.

According to the President, YACHIYO Engineering utilises modern technology to address the issue of waterborne diseases, thereby contributing to enhanced public hygiene and the well-being of residents while developing a smart city.

In a meeting, Minghui, President of Shinto Holdings Inc., informed the Cambodian Prime Minister about his plan to explore investment opportunities in Cambodia, with a focus on utilising artificial intelligence (AI) to address environmental issues.

In another meeting, Ishiguro Norihiko, President and CEO of the Japan External Trade Organisation (JETRO), shared with Samdech Thipadei Hun Manet his organisation’s plan to bring a group of Japanese to visit Cambodia to explore investment opportunities in the country.

During a meeting with the Cambodian Prime Minister, Prof. Watanabe Tetsuya, President of the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA), highlighted an update on his team’s feasibility study for the preparation of special economic zones to serve specific investments by industry or country in Cambodia.

Hun Manet expressed his full support for all investments in Cambodia as well as contributions to the country’s economic and trade development. AKP
