Poland has established itself as Cyprus’s third largest tourism market following July results, joining the United Kingdom and Israel as the top sources of visitor arrivals to the island.
Tourist arrivals in July 2025 reached 589,116 compared to 551,229 in July 2024, marking a 6.9% increase, the Statistical Service announced. For the January-July 2025 period, arrivals totalled 2,432,129 compared to 2,203,704 in the corresponding 2024 period, representing a 10.4% increase.
The UK maintained its position as Cyprus’s leading tourism market with steady annual growth. British arrivals numbered 189,730 in July 2025, compared to 186,751 in July 2024 and 175,924 in July 2023, demonstrating consistent upward trajectory despite global tourism industry challenges.
Israel secured second position following the loss of the Russian market, with arrivals reaching 76,557 in July 2025, up from 71,238 in July 2024 and 64.711 in July 2023. Israeli visitors have also made significant property investments, particularly in Larnaca district.
Poland recorded 23.3% growth in July arrivals compared to the previous year, cementing its third-place ranking. Polish visitor numbers increased from 28,957 in July 2023 to 35,456 in July 2024 and 43,713 in July 2025.
Romania and Germany showed strong growth rates over recent years. German tourists reached 23,694 in July 2025 compared to 19,030 in July 2023, while Romanian visitors increased to 17,000 from 9,513 in July 2023. Authorities attribute particular importance to the German market as Europe’s largest economy.
Arrivals from Sweden, Norway and Greece recorded notable decreases during the period.
The Deputy Ministry of Tourism plans to participate in 52 international tourism exhibitions, with the next major event being the IFTM Paris exhibition in September. Upcoming exhibitions include Caravan Salon in Düsseldorf in late August and three September events: IFTM Paris, Tourism Expo Japan in Osaka, and SeaTrade Europe in Hamburg.
October exhibitions include two in Stockholm, one in Copenhagen, and the National Wedding Show in Birmingham targeting wedding tourism. November features the World Travel Market in London, IBTM Barcelona, ITTF Warsaw, and Philoxenia in Thessaloniki.
The ministry will also attend the Athens Classic Marathon to attract sports tourism and tourism exhibitions in Colmar and Leipzig.
