The Crystal Springs Beach Hotel in Protaras is set to undergo an expansion, with Derova Ltd announcing a €13.5 million development project to improve the facility and increase its capacity.
This proposed plan will be implemented over the next 12 months on a 14,858 square metres plot in the Vrysoudia area of Paralimni municipality.
The expansion, which is contingent upon an environmental impact assessment approval, is divided into three stages.
Initially, the focus will be on constructing a new basement with modern facilities, followed by major enhancements to the ground floor and external areas, including new swimming pools and parking facilities.
The final phase will concentrate on the upper floors, adding additional rooms and a rooftop restaurant.
The new 26-metre-high building will encompass a basement, ground floor, and six additional floors, seamlessly integrating with the existing structure that comprises a basement, ground floor, mezzanine, and five upper floors.
This addition will increase the hotel’s footprint and incorporate a redesigned entrance and a reconfigured bar area on the ground floor.
Meanwhile, the kitchen and dining areas will be downsized and modernised to optimise space.
The announcement also mentioned that interior renovations across all levels will aim to “modernise the existing spaces significantly”.
Plans include installing glass railings on balconies, sealing outdated drainage systems, and introducing a new underground heated pool in the basement.
