PwC Cyprus promotes financial literacy, entrepreneurship among youth

Consulting and advisory firm PwC Cyprus on Wednesday released a statement detailing the various initiatives implemented by its foundation to “strengthen financial literacy and foster an entrepreneurial mindset among young people”.

Specifically, to mark Global Money Week 2025, which took place from March 17 to 23, the non-profit PwC Foundation coordinated the ‘Financial Literacy’ educational programme for the third consecutive year.

The initiative was supported by Junior Achievement (JA) Cyprus and held under the auspices of the Ministry of Education, Sports, and Youth.

This year’s Global Money Week theme was ‘Think Before You Follow, Wise Money Tomorrow’.

“Eleven PwC Cyprus mentors voluntarily participated in the 1.5-hour programme, equipping secondary school students with essential financial knowledge and skills,” the announcement stated.

“The programme falls under the ‘Education and Culture’ pillar—one of the three key focus areas of the PwC Foundation—and was implemented in secondary schools across Cyprus,” it added.

Moreover, as part of the ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’ pillar, the foundation, in collaboration with JA Cyprus, organised the Trade Fair of the Company Programme, on Wednesday, March 19.

This event was designed specifically for teams mentored by PwC professionals.

Thirteen teams from schools in Limassol, Nicosia, and Paralimni presented and sold their products and services.

A total of 15 PwC mentors provided guidance and support to 28 teams, preparing them for the JA Trade Fair scheduled for the weekend of March 29-30 at the Mall of Cyprus.

Additionally, the announcement mentioned another initiative under the ‘Youth Entrepreneurship’ pillar.

“The PwC Foundation also supported the JA Cyprus programme ‘Our Community’, an interactive programme focused on third-grade primary school students,” it stated.

The announcement explained that this initiative helps children understand the concept of community and how people and businesses operate within it.

Furthermore, 19 PwC mentors will visit primary schools, engaging with more than 400 students by the end of May.

“All the programmes implemented by the PwC Foundation are part of our long-standing commitment to supporting the local community,” said PwC Foundation Director Konstantina Logotheti.

“It is truly heart-warming to see the positive response from our people, who volunteer their time and embrace these youth-focused programmes with great enthusiasm,” Logotheti explained.

“They deserve a big thank you because, without them, none of this would be possible,” she added.

What is more, the announcement stated that “PwC Cyprus’ commitment to volunteerism continues to grow“.

It noted that “in 2024 alone, employees dedicated a total of 3,560 hours to voluntary initiatives”.

“During the ‘Volunteering Days’ week, 220 PwC employees participated in 13 volunteer activities, benefiting the wider community,” the announcement concluded.
