Revenue from tourism records in December an annual increase of 17%

Revenue from tourism recorded in December an annual increase of 17%, according to CySTAT.

In a press release, it says that based on the results of the Passengers Survey carried out by CySTAT, revenue from tourism reached €86.9m in December 2024, recording an increase of 17% as compared to the corresponding month of the previous year (€74.3m).

For the period of January – December 2024, revenue from tourism is estimated at €3,209.4m compared to €2,990.6m in the corresponding period of 2023, recording an increase of 7.3%.

The average expenditure per person was €653.27 in December 2024 compared to €600.79 in December 2023, recording an increase of 8.7%.

Tourists from the United Kingdom (the largest tourist market with 23.7% of the total tourists in December 2024) spent on average €64.12 per day, while tourists from Israel (the second largest market during the specific month with 17.4% of the total tourists) spent on average €162.55. Tourists from Poland (the third largest market with 9.4%), spent on average €72.17 per day.
