The Siem Reap provincial authority, in collaboration with the private sector, plans to make this month attractive for national and international visitors by hosting special events.
The plan was revealed by Ngov Sengkak, Deputy Governor of Siem Reap province, following a preparatory meeting for World Tourism Day with the private sector in Siem Reap City on Wednesday.
The authorities will plan three main events during this month, comprising the Gumball 3000 Rally on the 16-17, the Equinox Phenomenon at Angkor Wat on 21-23, and the World Tourism Day on the 27, said Sengkak.
He was confident that the events would bring more tourists to the province and called on the tourism operators to offer special discounts on their services during the month.
Siem Reap province has also launched a tourism development plan for 2025-2028 to upgrade tourism destinations, including the Phnom Kulen National Park, the Banteay Srey area, heritage areas under the management of the Apsara National Authority, Siem Reap urban areas, and Tonle Sap Lake to attract more visitors.
