A business delegation comprising 16 Singaporean companies has expressed strong interest in expanding investment in Cambodia, with a focus on the Kingdom’s growing industrial, technological, and innovation sectors.
The delegation met with Hem Vanndy, Minister of Industry, Science, Technology and Innovation (MISTI), to explore new investment opportunities across a range of sectors, including life sciences, digital learning, food processing, engineering services, and infrastructure.
During the high-level meeting on Wednesday, Minister Vanndy briefed the delegation on Cambodia’s development ambitions, highlighting opportunities in advanced manufacturing, research and development (R&D), and emerging innovation ecosystems.
He underlined the government’s commitment to supporting long-term, transformative investments that can accelerate the country’s shift toward a knowledge-based economy.
“Cambodia is not a perfect market, but we are a country hungry for evolution with a pro-business government,” the Minister said, noting the country’s upcoming graduation from Least Developed Country (LDC) status in late 2029. “We welcome long-term partnerships that support our transition toward a knowledge-based economy.”
The Minister also extended an invitation for Singaporean firms to collaborate with local enterprises in areas such as technology transfer, SME growth, startup support, and workforce development. He affirmed that MISTI stands ready to connect Singaporean investors with Cambodian partners to facilitate impactful collaboration.
“Cambodia is not static. We are on the move, and we want you to move further with us—not just at the policy level, but through real, transformative projects,” he added.
Some companies in the delegation, such as Keystone Cable, Vegafoods Singapore, Emaan Inspection, and Kydon Holdings, have already established operations in Cambodia and are now looking to scale up. These firms reiterated their confidence in Cambodia’s potential to become a regional hub for innovation and industrial growth.
The visit forms part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral economic ties and encourage foreign investment aligned with Cambodia’s industrial modernization agenda and digital transformation goals.
