Surge in tourism during Pchum Ben festival in Siem Reap

During the three-day Pchum Ben festival, Siem Reap province welcomed nearly 200,000 national and international tourists, marking an increase of 50.92% compared to last year.

According to the Siem Reap Provincial Department of Tourism, from October 1 to 3, 2024, over 180,000 tourists visited Siem Reap, representing a 52.74% rise from approximately 113,000 in 2023. Notably, 7,893 foreign tourists arrived during this period, reflecting a 19.55% increase from 20,602 in 2023.

The report highlighted that in 2024, Angkor Resort will continue to be a primary attraction for both national and international tourists. Additionally, sites like Phnom Kulen and the Tonle Sap Lake area, as well as the Bakong tourism community, also attract tourists.
