A Thai delegation composed of representatives of the Board of Investment of Thailand, the Thai Business Council, and investors from 20 companies is visiting Cambodia to learn more about the Kingdom’s investment environment and explore opportunities for further business cooperation between the two countries.
Kem Sithan, Acting Minister of Commerce, received the Thai delegation at the ministry office on Tuesday.
Sithan briefed the delegation on the government’s Pentagonal Strategy, Phase 1, which considers the private sector as an engine for national economic growth, as well as on business and investment protection policy through trade facilitation, tax incentives, and many other benefits, which have improved the business environment and ease of doing business in Cambodia.
The ministry has been increasing the exports of agricultural products, processed agricultural products, fisheries, and industrial goods and is ready to coordinate the establishment of businesses between Cambodian and Thai investors.
For the first half of this year, the two-way trade between Cambodia and Thailand reached $5.19 billion, a year-on-year increase of 20.52%. Both nations are committed to achieving their bilateral trade target of $15 billion by 2025. AKP
