Hun Many, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Civil Service (MCS), Saturday said that the trust between the Royal Government of Cambodia (RGC) and the private sector drives investments and fosters continuous growth in the Kingdom.
Addressing the opening ceremony of the ‘Auto Show 2025’ attended by the delegation of Cambodian Oknha Association (COA) led by Ly Yong Path, President of COA, at ‘The Premier Centre Sen Sok’ in Phnom Penh, Many highlighted the favourable business environment that has been driving continuous development and attracting investment from both domestic and international investors.
Many said that both the previous government and the current administration under Prime Minister Hun Manet have fostered a favourable investment environment through strong political strategies that promote close cooperation between the Royal Government and the private sector.
“This collaboration is all about building trust, and I want to see the private sector continue to grow and become a key partner for Cambodia,” he said.
The Deputy Prime Minister further emphasised that RGC has cultivated a favourable environment for all investors, with a strong focus on maintaining peace and stability. He encouraged both domestic and foreign private sectors to place their trust in the Royal Government and increase their investments for mutual benefit.
During the event, Seng Nhak, CEO of the Premier Centre Sen Sok and a member of COA, noted that this was the second time the ‘Auto Show’ had been held in Cambodia, with double the number of companies participating compared to the first exhibition.
He stressed that the success of this exhibition reflects the country’s economic growth, driven by peace and the effective leadership of the Cambodian government.
The Auto Show this year was organised by over 70 vehicle companies and various partners, bringing together car manufacturers, dealers, and consumers from the automotive industry.
According to the COA announcement, participants can explore new technological products, engage with the global market through Cambodia, and take advantage of opportunities to connect with customers and supply chains.
Additionally, consumers will have the chance to gain new experiences, discover innovative products, and learn about advancements in the automotive sector, the statement added.
Samheng Bora, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Commerce (MoC), Hun Lak, Spokesperson of COA, Ly Kun Thai, Vice President of Cambodia Chamber of Commerce (CCC) and Kuon Thida, President of Orienda International Hospital, were present on the occasion.
It should be informed that on February 12, Hean Sahib, Senior Advisor to the Prime Minister, led a working group to prepare the draft of the ‘Strategy to Boost Investments in the Automotive Sector,’ aimed at strengthening the domestic assembly industry for both fuel-powered and electric vehicles.
During the meeting, Sahib explained that the draft’s objective was to diversify the national economy through sustainable and inclusive development by supporting high-value-added assembly industries while repositioning Cambodia as a competitive player in the regional market.
