US Business Delegation meets DPM Sun Chanthol to discuss Cambodia’s investment climate

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol, who also serves as the first vice chairman of the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC), met with Pavel Fedorov, the CEO and co-founder of Salmon Group, and Maarten Terlouw, the president and co-chief investment officer of the American company Argentem Creek, today to discuss the investment climate in Cambodia.

To investigate potential investment opportunities in the Kingdom’s burgeoning financial technology sector, a debate was held.

With investments in Salmon Group, a fintech company based in the Philippines, Argentem Creek, a financial company, is looking to increase its regional presence, particularly in Cambodia.

During the meeting, the CEO of Salmon Group outlined the company’s progress and business model, expressing strong interest in Cambodia’s vibrant digital payments sector, which holds considerable potential for adopting fintech innovations that support the growth of the digital economy as a new driver of development.

Deputy Prime Minister Sun Chanthol welcomed interest in Cambodia’s fintech sector, emphasising the country’s attractive environment and opportunities for investors. He affirmed that the CDC is prepared to guide and coordinate to keep investment processes transparent, legal, and efficient.

This working meeting built on a prior engagement with the Argentem Creek delegation during an investment promotion mission led by the Deputy Prime Minister to the United States in late September and early October 2024.
