Wing Bank (Cambodia) Plc is celebrating 17 years of transforming Cambodia’s financial landscape, evolving from the nation’s first mobile money service into a 100 per cent Cambodian-owned commercial bank that now moves tens of billions of dollars annually and serves millions across the country.
Launched with the simple promise of making it easy, safe, and convenient to send money, Wing’s agent-led, phone-first model connected Cambodians to banking long before “digital finance” became a global buzzword. Its 12,000+ agents—over 80 per cent of them women—operate in every province, bridging the gap between communities and financial services.
After proving the demand for secure and accessible money transfers, Wing became a specialised bank in 2014 and later a full commercial bank, enabling it to serve a broader range of financial needs. Today, the network includes nearly 30 banking outlets, 50 ATMs/CRMs, and over 100 Wing Master Agents.
“Wing was born on Cambodia’s streets and shopfronts—our job has always been to bring banking to people’s lives, not the other way around,” said CEO Dr. Dmytro Kolechko. This community-first approach has earned Wing multiple global accolades, including Best Social Impact Bank 2024 and the Cashless Leadership Award 2024 from CFI.co, several Mastercard awards, and the 2025 Global Brand Magazine Awards for Digital Loan and Save-for-a-Goal. Innovations such as the Mastercard One Card—Cambodia’s first two-in-one debit-and-credit card—and Free Cash Out, which allows withdrawals at any Wing agent or ATM without fees, have set new standards for fairness and accessibility in the banking industry.
Wing’s growth is also fueled by strategic partnerships. In 2025 alone, the bank teamed up with CIMB Singapore to boost cross-border finance, TotalEnergies to fund nationwide service station upgrades, Singapore Airlines to link WingPoints to KrisFlyer miles, Sihanoukville Autonomous Port to digitise trade payments, and CIA First International School to modernise tuition fee payments and promote financial literacy. Beyond banking, Wing’s platforms such as Wingmall, Wingshop, WingAgri, and Wingmarket support SMEs, farmers, and local supply chains, proving that technology and finance can work together to drive economic growth.
The company’s social impact runs deep. Wing’s CSR programs have supported entrepreneurship, education, environmental initiatives, and public health—funding STEM programs for girls, sponsoring innovation accelerators, planting trees, and organising annual blood donation drives. This year, to mark its 17th anniversary, Wing has launched a new initiative — For every new Wing Bank account opened, the company will donate 200 riels to its Foundation for Refugees Assistance Relief Fund, which supports families displaced by the Khmer–Thai border conflict, the brave soldiers who serve to protect Cambodia’s sovereignty, and the families of soldiers who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. “Together, small actions can lead to big change,” said Dr. Kolechko.
As Wing steps into its 17th year, its mission remains clear: to ensure no Cambodian is left out of the financial system, while continuing to innovate and form partnerships that open new opportunities both locally and globally. “The future belongs to those who innovate,” Dr. Kolechko added, “and Wing will continue to lead the way.”
