The Prime Minister of Cambodia, Dr. Hun Manet, stated that in the past six months of the new Royal Government, 173 investment projects have been registered with the Council for the Development of Cambodia (CDC) with a total investment of $4.150 billion, creating more than 170,000 jobs.
He made this statement on the occasion of presiding over a plenary meeting of the Council of Ministers at the Peace Palace this morning, March 15, 2024.
“If you want concrete information on investment, you should check out the CDC. If you want to know information about trade volume, you need to check data from the Ministry of Commerce. If you want to know about the influx of tourists in Cambodia, check out the Ministry of Tourism. You cannot just make a conclusion,” the premier underscored.
“In the past six months, from August 2023 to February 2024, we only thought about the time when the new Royal Government was formed. What is the progress? The 173 new investment projects, worth $4,150 million, have been registered with the CDC, creating 177,000 jobs,” the premier continued.
On the occasion, Dr. Hun Manet added that the Royal Government is actively working to improve the investment climate and incentives to boost socio-economic activities and increase employment opportunities. In fact, the premier and a high-level delegation met and engaged with private sectors inside and outside the country.
Premier Hun Manet briefed that most foreign investors acknowledged the potential of Cambodia and were interested in investing in the kingdom. Fresh News
