Siem Reap province will host the Eighth River Festival and the Visit Siem Reap 2024 campaign next weekend, said Sok Soken, Minister of Tourism on Wednesday.
The campaign is expected to be presided over by Prime Minister Hun Manet on March 16, the minister added.
The announcement was made yesterday by Soken during a meeting with the Junior Chamber of International of Cambodia (JCI Cambodia) delegation led by Ly Oudam, 2024 National President of JIC Asia Pacific Conference held at the ministry in Phnom Penh.
The two events shall be organised in collaboration with the Provincial Administration of Siem Reap, the Union of Youth Federations of Cambodia (UYFC), relevant ministries and institutions, together with the private sector under the theme of ‘River for Peace and Development’.
Based on MoT sources, Prime Minister Hun Manet will preside over the official opening ceremony of the Eighth River Festival in mid-March, next month.
The upcoming festivals from March 15-17 will feature exhibitions of tourism and general products as well as the Mekong Food Festival with other joyful activities such as live concerts, performances, music entertainment and fireworks which celebrate along the Siem Reap River and the Pub Street. khmertimeskh
