Τourism relations between Cyprus and Bahrain, with particular emphasis on the issues of air connectivity and the prospects presented during this period were recently discussed in Nicosia.
The discussion took place during a meeting between the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Bahrain to Cyprus, Khaled Yusuf Ahmed Al Jalahma, who is based in Tel Aviv, and the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Kostas Koumis.
Cyprus’ Deputy Ministry of Tourism said in a press release that during the meeting, Koumis expressed the position that, taking into account the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, it was important that the tourism stakeholders of the two countries establish closer relations, with forging relations of cooperation being the ultimate goal.
The Deputy Minister also made “special reference” to the history of air connectivity between the two countries, linked by direct flights since 1976, and added that establishing closer cooperation with the Kingdom of Bahrain was among the objectives of the Deputy Ministry taking into account both the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries and the fact that Manama airport has a strong transit function.
The meeting was considered “particularly productive” by both the Deputy Minister and the Ambassador, the press release said, adding that the two sides agreed to continue discussions in the coming weeks.
