The President of Italy was impressed by the significance and grandeur exuded by the mosaics of Paphos, during yesterday’s afternoon tour of the Archaeological Park of Kato Paphos.
Accompanied by the President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, Sergio Mattarella toured the House of Dionysus and admired the mosaics and other antiquities that are part of the World Cultural Heritage, stating upon his departure impressed by the archaeological splendor of the area.
The Italian President was briefed on the archaeological treasures of Paphos by the Deputy Minister of Culture and the officials of the Department of Antiquities, while both President Mattarella and his accompanying daughter, as well as other members of the Italian delegation, showed a keen interest in the history of Paphos during antiquity.
