Larnaca Municipality has announced the completion of the new Salina Municipal Park, which opens to the public from November 23.
The new city landmark, spanning 14,000 square metres, represents a significant addition to Larnaca’s green heritage and extends from the existing Municipal Garden to create the city’s largest green space, the municipality said.

The park combines modern architecture with recreational facilities, sporting areas and relaxation spaces. Architect Elena Sofianou-Olympiou designed the project, whilst construction was carried out by Wade Adams Contracting (Cyprus) Limited – AKI Constructions Ltd.

A centrepiece fountain lake fronting the refreshment area, surrounded by existing greenery and an elevated footbridge, serves as the park’s signature feature.

The park features two main entrances – one on Leonida Kiouppi Street opposite the Municipal Garden and another on Griva Digeni Avenue.
Additional pedestrian access points are located behind two listed buildings, formerly home to the district officer and police director.

The entrance from Griva Digeni Avenue leads to the Palm Garden with amphitheatre-style seating and an open space designated for cultural events.
West of the lake, visitors can walk along the Alea pathway between deciduous tree lines.

The development includes a children’s playground, with most areas featuring natural earth walking surfaces rather than paving.
The €2.4 million project, excluding VAT, was co-funded by the European Union through the “THALIA 2021-2027” Cohesion Policy programme.https://www.facebook.com/plugins/video.php?href=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.facebook.com%2Favyras%2Fvideos%2F1646612122954489%2F%3Fref%3Dembed_video&show_text=0&width=267
