Royal Government conducts active foreign affairs to gain investment

During the 7th mandate, the government conducted busy and active foreign affairs to strengthen relationships with friendly countries and attract new investment to the Kingdom.

In a press conference on the one-year achievement of the 7th mandate held at the Office of the Council of Ministers on Monday, Jean-François Tan, Minister attached to the Prime Minister, said that over the past year, Prime Minister Hun Manet has travelled to 16 countries across five continents, including Asia, America, Africa, Europe, and Oceania, to pay official visits and attend international meetings.

Cambodia’s diplomacy has two main objectives: first, to tighten old friendships and forge new ones, and second, to strengthen Cambodia’s position on the international stage and to continue to urge the international community to respect Cambodia as a fully sovereign state, he underlined.

Tan also reiterated Cambodia’s stance against any foreign interference in her internal affairs and its pursuit of a fully independent foreign policy based on international law and the principles of the UN and ASEAN Charter.

Furthermore, he stressed for economic diplomacy the Government led by Mr Hun Manet has actively implemented economic diplomacy to achieve the country’s ambition of becoming an upper-middle-income economy by 2030 and a high-income nation by 2050.

The main objectives of economic diplomacy are to promote international trade, attract foreign investment, boost tourism and cultural and sports exchanges, and promote the country on the regional and international stage. AKP
